Richard Bennett Owen

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Bennett Owen on October 19, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 2, 1940, in California, Richard was a beloved husband, father, and friend whose smile, encouragement, and understanding impacted the lives of all who knew him. Richard was the cherished son of James Monte Owen and Lilian Tulleen Hall. He grew up in a loving family environment that shaped his values and his dedication to hard work. After completing his education, Richard embarked on a fulfilling career as a general contractor specializing in carpentry. He began his own General Construction Co., named Christian Construction Co., which later changed to R.B. Owen Construction Co. Richard was dedicated to and he loved the Lord Jesus. Over the years, he helped many men just out of jail, prison, and sometimes hitchhikers. And homeless men by giving them work with his construction company. Richard expected hard work, punctuality, a clean job site, and respect on the job. He expanded his skills and developed a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliability. His commitment to his profession was a testament to his character and work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Richard’s greatest joy came from his family. In his personal life, Richard found profound happiness when he married the love of his life, Sandra Catherine Kraus. Their union began with a beautiful partnership filled with love and respect. Together, they created a stable home for their family, and their bond was a source of commitment to their marriage. Richard was a devoted father to his son, Rick Owen, his Daughter, Kelly Owen, and his daughter, Lisa Dryer. He took immense pride in watching his children grow up. Let us remember Richard's kind spirit, compassionate nature, his infectious laughter, his smile, his grin, and his ability to help and understand people. Richard persevered through tough times. He never gave up. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Catherine Owen, his son Rick Owen, his daughter Kelly Owen, and his daughter Lisa Dryer. Grandsons Brendan Owen, Rich Owen, and Gino Dryer. Great-grandchildren Luke Owen, Benjamin Owen, Bailen Dryer Sisters Norma Mitchell and Teresa Beech. Many nieces and Nephews. And, great nieces and nephews. He is remembered fondly by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in their hearts. As we bid farewell to a wonderful man whose own life enriched so many lives, may we celebrate Richard Bennett Owen’s life by carrying forward his kindness, dedication, and love for family.
